unlocks the ability to charge PAST 100%

to 200%

then uppping that NP level

allows you to charge to 300%

which is the cap

THEN if theyre last in an NP chain

they get two 100% bonuses

to get 500% overcharge

so NP1 is no merges

NP2 is one merge

NP5 is the max and is five of the same
