I thought about it a little more

:re as of right now is pretty rushed from what I just realised. They cut out all of the build up, the jokes and trying to get to know the quinx squad in general, in favor of "Hey lets get our boy Kaneki back into action for the egdemasters"

The action also feels really

bad

Like, the choregrophy of the action is really off

With repeated animations

The lack of substance has been around since season 1

and lousey unimpactful hits

it by and large has been action and edge

since the start

the manga significantly less so

even in the original, you didnt learn/meet the characters as much as you did in :re

In the manga theyonly IMPLIED he was kaneki,

this still pisses me off

In the manga they had multiple moments with one to 2 panel glimpses of the old Kaneki

it was one of the better character defining parts when you were able to affirm, "YEP! this is 100% kaneki!"

but that woul;dn't translate well to animation
