But when your ego is that big, you cant take criticism, because the whole reason youre doing all that youre doing is because you want to feel superior to everyone, and if youre superior, it would be foolish to take criticism from those who are so far below you

The only reason he's admitting to doing anything wrong is because he's well aware of the public perception of him, and apologizing for "breaking down" and "lashing out" gives the impression of him being introspective and regretful about a short period of weakness on his part. Like he acted like a dick during a small period of intense stress.

When in reality, there is a years-long history of him privately abusing and scamming everyone around him while showing no remorse. But most of that stuff is unforgivable, so he's trying to draw attention away from it to spin everything else into something he can move past.
