Hey Everyone If you haven't been keeping up with my work, I have (very dramatically) ended URealms Live with a big video called Digital Bards which expresses a lot of different themes and sentiments about streaming and making content online. If you consider yourself a fan and have followed my career at all, I highly recommend watching it and if you got the time the breakdown video that really dives into the feelings behind this movie. I'm done making content for now. I don't really know if my community will support me doing this, but it's frustrating to hear "you need a break" as month by month my numbers and support drop until I make a big plea every year to get paid ya know? I understand it's part of the gig, but after 15 years, it's getting really hard to keep going at the unhealthy speed I have gone. Too many people I would meet at conventions would try to grind the same way I have and it's honestly just heartbreaking because I can still feel like a failure who hasn't made anything of value when I know that isn't true.

Viewers are not fans. Viewers are people who come for X content and leave when it's done.  While a lot of "viewers" can pay your bills temporary, if your an artist online you are at their mercy forced to make your art unless you can smoothly transition to the next project. I have transitioned from project to project and every time I do there are some viewers who leave, but I notice more and more "Fans" who have just been around longer and longer and don't value the content as much as they value me. Some of my fans have been supporting me these last few years and didn't even watch URealms Live, they were just waiting for what comes next. Many of you have reached out to me since this video. Both positive and negative. But the love I have received has been so personally rewardomg that it has been very inspiring and I'm excited to work on this new show which really won't start get going until the new year. If you aren't impressed with what I'm doing yet, understand that I have had no real time to make this show and I will need a few months to really get it to a sweet spot like any other project.

I'm still going to be doing a lot of the same old content, but from a different frame of mind. I don't make content, that's not my job. My job is instead this one inspirational show every week and the work behind the scenes I'm going to be doing to build up this community. I need to put the leg work in, but come the new year I really think most of you will understand more about the type of artist and creator I think I can become. My friend Gooderness who works for Flocker.tv is a company that merges Patreon, Teespring, Stream Labs basically all the ways I make money into one platform. Next year they plan on having warehouse support too which means we can do fun things like sell Megans Flower Crowns potentially or other one off products from the same place as everything else. The main reason for this move is because they are personal people who I have come to get to know over the last year and their entire purpose is to make my life easier managing a lot of this stuff at the same costs all of these platforms already charge us for basically. Flocker is close to launch a lot of the features I need to replace things like patreon, but they might still be a few months off.

URealms Live exists because when we started this Patreon, it allowed me the time to build something brand new. Flocker will allow me to go to the next level of a creator and I'm going to be doing it from a healthy place this time around. Please reach out personally to me because my job is now basically to develop a relationship with the people who appreciate my art. I love my art, but to me it is not valuable. I am the one who is valuable. I want a small community of lifetime fans who want to help me grow, I'm not interested in mainstream fame. So my job is now to take a break from content to build relationships with the people who have been with me for years and years in hopes that you value my growth and art projects in your life and you will want to continue supporting me to see where it goes next. I'm trying to be an IRL Bard NPC who also just happens to stream an insane amount of goofs.

And I think I've figured out why I dislike Flocker From the perspective of the niche it's trying to fill, it's integrating a bunch of services, and promising to take a smaller cut. But financial management companies never don't feel slimy, especially when they try to dress-up their business in friendly gamer branding. The Chinese warehouse thing is a neat gimmick, that I don't think will work. and it leaves them being this transactional middleman, trying to get rich off the backs of others. I don't care that my bank gets rich off of holding my money, but I resent these small financial-sector startups that don't really provide anything, trying to extract just enough money to sustain themselves.
