Notwithstanding clause lets the government basically say fuck you to the court (any court including the supreme) and push through legislation

That sounds mildly broken

it has basically never been used, only examples off the top of my head are Quebec uses it to stop English language mandates by the federal government

and Alberta tried to use it to stop a bill allowing gay marriage

this is the first time Ontario has ever used it

and it is really broken vinny

it is apart of out constitution

because Quebec demanded it

It's essentially a veto power it seems

it is actually a huge deal in canadian politics that he is using it
