A physics degree can get me a job, sure, because that is not a field that is super over saturated
as gent just said, an english lit degree is worthless
I am all for people going for english lit degrees if that is what they care about
just they should not expect money for it
I am being taught things and none of my profs are jewish
so checkmate
self teaching physics would be a pain in the ass because every fucking field of physics has its own notation
and conventions
particle physicisists ruined everything for everyone

and then math and physics have their own conventions sometimes too which makes looking things up a pain in the ass
and then engineers have yet a third set of conventions and notation
fuck every academic field except pure math

A degree doesn't guarantee a job though
A degree is required for many jobs but does not guarantee one that is true
Only entry-level jobs require a degree
Your second job isn't going to care about your education pedigree, short of if you're applying for a research position or something
