(it's called a bayonet lug, and it's main use is that if the bayonet snaps, it helps guide the blade away from the user)
it's a safety thing
but, it may make your gun way harder to get
Same reason people (myself included) are pissed about all the silencer laws, they actually make the gun less deadly
but safer to use
The second grip, is in my mind the same way, I'm more likely to grip something hot and burn my hand, without a good grip
(airsoft gun, but same thing)
what's the reasoning behind restricting Grips/stocks
two reasons, it makes almost all guns (unless you're careful) assult weapons
which means you pay a higher tax
other reason is political, so when people rail against assault rifles, it puts a ~95% of guns under threat
The tax is the big one though
honestly
I mean like, do they even make the gun more dangerous?
So, that depends what you mean
the shroud is a decorative thing, so no
but you could say, a second grip or stock improves your aim, and makes it less likely you hurt yourself operating your gun
so... I guess it does
bayonet lug and grenade launchers aside (because they're both silly)
silencers are the only thing that ever is a sticking point for some people
because they think quieter gun == more crime
I can see the argument, but I don't really agree
they slow down the bullet enough (usually) so they don't go supersonic and make that load crack you'd otherwise hear
but guns are still fairly loud even with them
they also make guns harder to conceal though, so I'd say it's an equal trade-off
A lot of gun laws make no sense, and don't target things they actually should try to regulate
like 80% uppers and lowers
There aren't any "loopholes" in gun laws
waiting lists and background checks are universal if you're buying a legal gun
you need to pay hefty taxes, and get licenses for most special shit too
I'll admit I don't know very much when it comes to guns and gun laws. just i am against big gun control because i agree with the argument that owning a gun is good for self defense
the problem with gun laws, is every gun owner has something they'd be willing to trade away, to be left alone (see me and 80% lowers)
And the NRA does a shitty job of establishing a unified front
If I can legally buy an arsenal of guns, there shouldn't be some unholy concern over fringe cases
like bump stocks or repeating triggers
or even 3D printed guns
That's not the hill I'm going to die on
mostly because the effectiveness of fully-automatic guns, are within the margin of error for things I can get my hands on
I don't think i trust the average citizen with tanks
the tank wouldn't be legal to drive anywhere either
It's the same problem I have with the abortion debate
everyone keeps shifting the goal posts, on both sides
all the debate is around exceptions and small insignificant shit
and instead of agreeing on something in the middle, both sides peddle this all or nothing BS
is a condom murder Leg?
is Plan B murder
is taking a hot shower after sex murder
I agree with abortion when it comes to rape or teen pregnancy. Other than that it should be left to local law
it does the same thing as plan B
it causes the mucus along your uterus walls to not allow the embreo to attach itself
but we run into the issue, with all of this
that something crazy like 40% of pregnancies already end with a miscarriage
becasue we don't have a good way to strap women down, and prevent them from moving for 6-8 weeks or whatever
and after that the percentage drops to <5%
it's hard to classify walking up the stairs too vigorously as either murder or manslaughter
when women have "heavy periods" often that is a miscarriage
so the first 2 weeks of pregnancy are the high risk times?
find me the actual number, but this is a pretty acurate chart
yes Dialga, because literally the only think keeping the pregnancy going, is the fertilized egg attached to the wall of the uterus
Plan B, as well as a million other things, just induce that wall lining to not allow things to attatch to it
same reason hot tubs kill babies
it's also why when we talk about abortion, it's hard to even know what people are talking about sometimes
the ones where they're literally cutting up the baby, are terrible
okay yeah that's definitely a bit over the line
that's what they do though, after it gets past a certain point they have to, no other way
