because the fans shipped it
It made the world of Avatar less interesting, and I don't think Korra is an engaging character.
Those are my two faults with the series
Mind you, I gave up after S2
most of the plot was for off factor and no other reason or repercussions
But at no point did I like the show
I'm not watching any more
also the villains where all terribly done
Im fine with writing off all of Korra
Doing so doesn't bother me
Anything in that universe had potential, there are a million great stories you could tell.
I think Korra was a borring story, told poorly, through the vantage point of a lackluster character
in the most boring future for the setting
There was a 10x as shocking way to achieve the same thing,
Kill Korra in the avatar state

Ang wasn't "killed" though
He wasn't dead, he was near death
The strength was leaving his body, which included the spiritual connection he housed fading
I can accept that it can be interpreted as him dying/being revived
