by shonen do you mean continual release shows that have filler instead of taking breaks for new chapters?
I think it's all down to pacing
I don't think Black Clover's bad, and the manga is pretty good and all
I just can't get into shows with awful pacing
Even for series I like, let alone series I'm not super into
And I dare you to find me a modern shonen which doesn't having pacing issues
