We have seen that some of you have concerns about the new shop feature meaning the addition of microtransactions. ...That’s it. That’s the tweet. https://t.co/Y9y3EZCapS
The Saga of Satisfactory
Make game Epic exclusive
It doesn't sell well
Say you're halting updates, in preparation for Steam 1.0 release
Game begins to sell <100 copies a month
Add microtransactions in a bid to keep the game alive <------You are here
Doesn't work
Game comes out half-baked
Steam release flops
Future games put on hold
Studio closes
Because they're bleeding money, trying to develop 3 games right now
It's not some 3 person indie studio, they've got 2-3 dozen devs (I think)
this game was such a slam dunk too, all they had to do was release it, and it would have sold gangbusters
First person factorio
but they managed to fuck it up, piss off their customers, and fuck their long-term projects
I have to wonder what their HoMM game is going to look like now
if they're going to try to release an Alpha 0.0.1 to try to at least get some money from it
