I think you are underselling the 3ds
but agree that is is not as impactful as the ds was
I think you all forget 3DS sales were very slow
if not for the fact that it had 11 years or whatever to build the install base
okay
but who the fuck cares about sales
is spooky an investor
in nintendo
the 3DS had to compete against phones
and it did admirably, given what it was up against
it didn't it coasted off the niche of the DS
hence why the Vita failed
because fuck the PSP
the vita nested itself between two sega consoles
Meanwhile the Switch, doesn't give a shit about phones
and no one even really compares them
that's the point
did mobile games get ported to 3DS?
I think we look at the 3DS fondly, because it will be the last truly portable game system
end of an era

and will continue on stong
I think of my favorite games, most of them are 3ds games
3ds just had a solid lineup of games
was ps4 backwards compatible with ps3
I never owned one, so idk
being able to play ds games on my 3ds is also a huge thing
since the ds had a great library too
that's still so laughable
saying that it's the best console at the end of the decade might be true
which goes along with what you say about the number of good, non-dated games
he really likes the console that he doesnt have okay
