but the way lockpicking is resource and skill linked

but I feel like it was like that in fallout nv too, and even more so in 4

in fallout 4 lockpicking made or break if you had tons of resources

All I'm saying, is I'd do it differently because it never doesn't suck being cockblocked by a lockpick check at the end of a dungeon/camp

after the first map, theres a new area- with a gun shop, you can buy all these cool guns- or wait a while and get most of them from a fight, or steal one

i never buy weapons/armor in these types of games

It's hard to break the mold, and design an RPG around using the shops

because you want loot to matter and be fun

but that invalidates buying equipment
