the main foe is a female

a female human

so this all relates to gears lore

and I hate that it works, makes sense, and reveals more preexisting gears lore

Could she of been a side character still- but it actually works quite well

I think bashing on it for the female lead is valid as some parts it comes off like that

but it still doesn't feel shoved in your face except a few cutscenes

mostly, gears 4 mc is white male makes bad hothodded decision, and black male gets a prick and whines, and she takes it like a man, making having a small dick male joke

so DQ2 forces you to essentially grind to level 8 to get party member 2, who arrives level 1...

with worse starting gear than you started with originally

like I said

3 is the only one worth playing

you get the first key really early in this, at least compared to the first one's key

so the entire map of DQ1 is an island in DQ2, fun
