1. Where the fuck did all this random technology that was never found before, come from 2. Why does it disappear right away without a trace 3. Why is there no hookshot in the most advanced (technology wise) game 4. Why is there no owl (that's actually the light sage) >:(

Honest answer:

In the lore, Nintendo has stated BotW is "Post-Convergence"

Didn't expand upon what exactly that means

But you can almost guarantee that it involves timelines crossing

Because of the stupid OoT split

Because of that, you almost have to assume canonically that there are at least two outcomes of each game (Link succeeds/fails)

So post convergence at this point could involve 100+ timelines

remember that one of the original plot ideas for botw was link and Ganondorf fighting aliens
