Oh, for sure
It had plenty of holdovers of engine limitations
I never liked AoE 2 as much as a kid
but I know everyone else did
Thing is though, the HD version they released on Steam is way better than anything Microsoft is going to put out
It even had new DLC
I'm just sad Microsoft has pissed around with the Age of Empires license for so long
Online was trash
I can sum up why online was bad
there was no skirmish mode
no good PvP
and the game was unbalanced as fuck due to player abilities
Maps were small and boring, 2 civs on launch
With a 3rd and 4th costing ~$20 each
Yep, Greek and Egyption
I liked the modding scene from 3 better
But 2 was a better game
3 allowed for much bigger battles, which lent itself to fun mods
You're going to think I'm joking Karp, but I used to bring my dads work laptop to a local Bojangles, and download mods
