if you want to actually hold a chokepoint then you want a starbase with full weapons modules and defense platforms

against stuff like Fallen empires

and Larger AI's

i don't like wasting starbase slots on defensive stuff usually

fallen empires will walk through your defenses though. at least it'll slow them though

I do indeed have a nice souther chockpoint

if you're playing singleplayer you're better off exploiting naval cap starbases so you intimidate them into never attacking

If you can stack your fleet on top of your defense bases before the enemy shows up you're basically impenetrable

again zingly, i haven't really played megacorp

just surrender to the khan Kappa

I got a nice little fleet of 10 covertes

i surrendered to the khan once and it's not as bad

as you might think

theres very little downsides

he died right afterwards anyway and turned into a federation thing

that i became leader of

I though he used to take a planet from you

and he got kicked out

from his own thing

and then everyone ganged up on him

the khan doesn't now though so

no he doesn't

he puts a fortress or something in your capital

so you don't rebel

but that's about it

Finally i can use auto explore and not have to manage the sciene ships at all

for the first time in a number of games, the khan spawned on the opposite side of the galaxy

so I just didn't give a shit

he just spawns so far away i either can't do anything to him

or i just don't care

the khans been spawning next to or inside my empire for a good while

also have had many games where the war in heaven, both awakens have been next to/ either side of me or near by
