How you know that a game's crafting system is ass
When more people have completed the game, than have crafted 5 items
Pillars of Eternity 2
I'm mixed
I think it's a great game
But the loading screens have only gotten worse from Tyranny
And some of the towns are WAY too big, so you spend hours traipsing around without any combat
Plus, there are some crafting/balance issues
Also, there is a pretty bad bug right now, which is fixed by disabling your Steam overlay
But you get to name islands
(not that anyone doesn't run out of names after the first few)
I think half of mine are named after people in this cult

I think I've named 10 or so so far
Three are yours, two are Dialga's, Pika, Leg, xBrox and Karp have one

What game are you talking about
Counting this one as yours too Max
oh pillars of eternity
If there were zero loading screens
It think Deadfire would be 10/10
But if I want to run around the main island, and turn in quests
I'm not kidding when I say there are 30-40 loading screens
that sounds like an extremely excessive number of load screens
2 - Land/leave island
12 - Enter/Leave each of the island areas
24 - Enter/Leave houses in each area (assuming two in each area)
It's actually more, because some of the houses have multiple floors, so from main street you load ---> lvl 1 ---> lvl 2 ---> lvl 3 (talk to guy) ---> level 2 ---> lvl 1 ---> Street
It is, I agree
What's weirder is they have some areas which have working transitions
Where you can go between floors without load screens
But then there will be a tower, and you can enjoy a dozen 10 second load screens
What makes this better Leg, is that they finished the game early
And moved up their launch date
All their games have this problem
And their map designers are too stupid to code around it
There is an EASY fix
Which is to just not have all these tiny houses everywhere, that chew up minutes of screen transitions
couldn't they just model the buildings on the map
like, Divinity original sin 2. That's one of the few things i really liked about that game
There are maps in Tyranny (their last game) which were called the hole hills or something
Where there were 30+ hovels, each with two levels of rooms inside
That's almost 100 loading screens on one map
Better, a lot of these rooms were empty
The design teams at Obsidian are proud they are repurposing code form the original baldur's gate
I really love all their recent cRPGs, despite their faults
I just have no idea how they don't fix shit like this
