Having played some of xenoblade, I can firmly say that it is a cleaner experience. All the little qol changes added up and made a much better experience out of it.
Especially the overhaul of the quest system.
graphically is it a stepup from the wiiU version?

From what I've read it's 720p docked, which is odd, however, visually it stacks up easily to xbc2
