The problem I have with ranking games is you're usually left with 2 lists
1) games you liked as a kid
2) games you played semi-recently
All of mine was recent
It's the idea that you have to get your money's worth
I let no nostalgia get me
and then a few niche games you think deserved more love
Outer wilds and outer worlds are both around the same rank

But then someone invented steam refunds

I let none of the niche get me either

I imagine the same kinds of people who like No Mans Sky, for the "looking at cool things" part of the game
really like Outer Wilds
and got lifted into the sky with an entire island
Looking at cool games has never been something I liked about gaming
and then had to climb into a jelly fish's anus to get to the core of the planet
The only time I really felt that was the first time I played Skyrim
The mountain impressed me
