You unlock new characters every 10 minutes or so when you visit the home screen
But they're a "challenger" and you have to beat an easy AI one-on-one to get them
Instead of doing the campaign or classic mode
They don't spawn if you only play online
the ais get harder the more characters you have unlocked
@Deleted User zelda is the second unlock if you do the fast method
no i thought there were some secrets
fire it will take like 3 minutes to unlock zelda
you need to go to the Smash mode in the main menu

oh wait, you get mii fighter for free, just make one in the Games and More menu
