if i'm remembering correctly, the Fourier Series is a fourier transform but discretely sampled

Sounds not disimilar to what we did
Since we went from a sum to an integral
To get to transforms
series are for periodic signal and transforms are for not, but you can just take the transfomr of the periodic signal anyway
At the end of the semester, they'll teach you how typing "fft" on a computer is 100x more efficient than everything you've done all semester

So hand worked out fourier series
It's a signals processing thing, it's just funny how fft works
Physics dhould just fuck off and let us learn the math needed first

you can actually take symbolic fourier transforms in matlab
no need for fft then
unless you are using real data of course
