thats a start
the inverse is (a-yb)/(cy-1) = x
then you can break the equation up into a/b+cx and x/b+cx
that might help
so cy-1=0
at y=2
c = 1/2
then b=1
can solve for a by looking where x intercept is
it's at 2
a/b =2
so I suppose a= -2
oh wow that was simpler than I was making it out to be
should just be 2 if I am not being stupid
x-intercept is at 2
so a = -2
since you have a/b+cx
so a/b = 2 and b = 1
so a=2
that gives a straight line
NotLikeThis
the x-intercept is at 2, so a+x=0 when x=2
so a= -2 right?
okay You are right
I think
i mean i have an answer key and it says a=-2
why did you let me argue with you
just say, hey pika, you are full of shit
and have not had to do a question like this ever
Kappa
also it's a four point question and one of the points is just "tried to use asymptotes" and the other three are correct answers
ib grading is weird
I fucking pulled out pen and paper for this shit
oh my bad pika
no worries
I enjoy math
would not be in what is essentially 50% a math program if not
wait hold on leg
how do you get that inverse
Set x as y
then solve for y
so you get (a + y)/ (b+cy) = x
then just multiply over, factor out common ys, and write that in terms of y
yeah got it
leg switched x and y and it was confusing
because that is what you do
well, not switched
anyway i got it
wait no somehow i got an extra -1 in both numerator and denominator
if I didn't already know the answer i wouldn't take it out
should just be y at the end on the right
i mixed 2 steps
i did:
x(b+cy) = a+y
y-cxy = bx-a
y(1-cx) = bx-a
y= (bx-a) / (1-cx)
thats what I did
then 1-2c = 0
oh i'm fucking dumb as shit
god dammit i can't do fuckin algebra
as my teacher says, "calculus is easy, algebra is hard"
this was more relevant when i was actually in calculus but w/e
linear algebra is confusing
linear algebra sounds scary
college linear 1 is easy
its when you get to the machine learning stuff when its gets really confusing
linear algebra was mostly proofs for me
computation was fine
