My programing course is such a bullshit course for marks

need a 10% on the exam for a 70 in the course, 43% for an 80

I have a 66.88% in the course already, exam is worth 30%

that's the weirdest grading system I've heard of

My modern physics course last term, had 40% assignment weighting, and you could get up to 119% on the assignments

no cap, so you go into the exam with all bonus you got

I went into that exam with a 70 something

exam was 30% as well iirc

All my other courses are more reasonable though

roughtly 65% for all my other courses needed for a 70

Mind you, I also only have 70s in those courses

programming I have a 95 in atm

because 20% of the grade was participation

40% assignments which I got all 100s except a few 90s.

And midterm, which I got an 85 on, was only worth 10%

I've had a course where the homework didn't matter at all, the tests were the only thing that went into the gradebook

It was pretty fair

Usually, it is basically 60% exam, 30% midterm, 10% assignments

+ or - 5% to each catagory

Anyways, I just spent 20 mins doing the math on what grade I need for shit to procrastinage studying

Pika, I want you to imagine a course which has an unlimited number of assignments you can do. (each worth 50-100 points, turn in whenever you want), and you need an arbitrary number of points for an A (say 1200)

Now imagine the reason it was set up this way was so the professor can just fail you on every assignment becuase he likes to feel powerful
