4e^(2x)=5
for the life of me i cant figure it out even though i KNOW it should be easy
i just realized im a dumbass
2x = ln(5/4)
for literally 20 minutes
i forgot that i can fucking divide both sides by 4
instead of taking ln4e
you can still do it if you play with the adding rule
yeah but i was confusing the fuck out of myself
if i have logx+log(x-3)=1
and then have log(x^2-3x)=1
what do i do from there?
do i assume the base is 10 and then go from there?
i guess
is there any other way to do it?
i don't know
it seems pretty effective
so im fucked in summer work right now, right?
i turn on spotify, first song that plays?
drowning
x^2 - 3x = 10
yeah i know it from there
i just didnt know if thats an acceptable way of doing it, fuck it tho
(x-5)(x+2) = 0
x = {5,-2}
not -2. somce ;pgs
since logs*
how do i do:
(x-5)/(x-3) ≥ 0
its a range
or multiple ranges
well yeah
but how do i solve it?
no thats right
which one?
x > 5 U x < 3
how do i arrive at that answer though
x can't be -2 because negative log isn't defined
x is greater than or equal to 5
not just greater than
how do i arrive at that answer
i just plotted it in my head
you need to look where x<0 or equal to zero
is where its 0
If you need to show your work, make a table
or make a 1 axis plot
alright
at the different points
just analyze the zeros of the top and bottom and check around them
different key points
yeah what leg said
what is the behavior > and < 3 and 5
so x<3 and x≥5
since anything else is either negative or not defined
what is the formula for inverse sine?
is it inverse sine + 2pin and then inverse sine (90-x) +2pin
hell if I know
what?
you are not far enough to need to know this
im taking ab not bc btw
i dont have the time for bc
this isn't bc, this is like post calc 3
complex exponentials don't come up until differential equations
yeah, I have barely delt with complex and I am in university potahto, no clue what you are talking about
oh i wasnt talking about doing that
im just saying im not taking bc
i would probably drop on the spot of i had to do that this year
Prob would be wise if the expected you do do post calc 3 stuff lol
okay so (x+1)^2(x-2)+(x-2)^2)(x+1)=0
Pfff, I have no idea how to do that Kappa
