What is the value of x if the geometric series x^2-x^3+x^4-.... Converges to x/5? Precalculus so no derivatives
Would I set it up as x^2(1/(1--x))=x/5?
I think it works but I'm not sure if that's the way I'm supposed to do it

Set up the origional =x/5
Divide by x
Then, multiply by -1
Add 1
Now you have a geometric series with x=-x
And that equals 4/5
So you would rearrange 1/(1-x)=4/5
Not minus
X=1/4
