Yeah, at a point, most math is just done in your head
I mean, this is mainly because typing in a calculator is probably slower
convolution on paper is literally drawing box functions on a number line

My fun in math was always the fact that my teachers always put group problems up
I always solved it before they were finished writting

i was usually trying to solve proofs completely unrelated to the current topic because i had already figured it out weeks prior
even in advanced maths classes i usually understood the concept immediately and then had to sit bored through the class
