(x+2)^2=x^2+4x+4
I took the derivatives of both equations and set them =
meaning there's only one point of intersection
meaning its tangent
and solved for x
that works too
then I set the equations = and pluged in x
so you factored out an x+2
completed the square
however you do that
your way seems more complicated
my way doesn't use calculus, which means i don't have to think as hard before bed
its also only viable because of the 4x term being nice
