youtube gives notification for new uploads for channels you do not subscribe to if you have been watching it enough
that sounds like another bad idea

It is the destop notifications though
not in your subscription feed
still not a good thing
i subscribe to channels to get those updates
i don't want them from anywhere else

they send you notifications for channels you do not follow
