Friends list is live in case you havent noticed
If it isnt showing up for you, restart discord

its confusing to try to add friends and there is no indicator that you have a new request
Are you on mobile?
Because there is a indication for new requests on PC

i don't use sound notifications

On the little icon in the top left
then i'm blind
If you have one, it puts a red box with a white 1 up there
What other issues do you have with the implementation
you have to know to look at their profile to add them as a friend
i thought it would just involve clicking their name

also the numbers don't mean anything

They identify you
You can change your name to anything
but you have to use the entire tag to friend someone, not just the number
Just your username means nothing
but just your number also means nothing
Thats why the combination of the 2 things means something
at least friend codes are a static value
