maybe it could work

You'd need to convince every TLer to distribute their releases with standardized metadata via some sort of RSS or XDCC
which you could probably accomplish
tbh Leg, I'm suprised nobody has
There is no real legal way to buy manga in English, as it releases
Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like paradox is getting enough of a catalog of ongoing releases, translating their back-catalogue
and then not having gay DRM fuck up your official app
A Windows Store app, I hope
I want it right up there with solitaire
I wonder how big the "Western" market would be if it was sufficiently tapped
I think CR gets a vast minority of the potential anime market they could be serving
I think YenPress, LNClub, SevenSeas, and Viz do the bare minimum to capture the physical LN/manga market, and do fuck all on the digital side
LN Club could be amazing, if they didn't borrow the shitty Audible business model
Which is built for 100+hour audiobooks, not 30 minute LN chapters
weeb shit is the one place where I think I'm perhaps too insulated to know what the mainstream Western market would bear
I don't know if the business model in Japan, of hunting "whales" is the way to go about it for America
Americans are massive
whale hunting will work
Maybe that's what you do though, maybe you release digital content for near-nothing
and than make it back on movie tickets, merchandise, and other overpriced BS
OR, maybe you put some effort in, and build a model that works for everyone
I think weekly releases are really nice for anime/manga/WNs
Maybe Americans want to binge shit though
I think the value add of streaming services would be in all the extras you could add to your site
maybe Americans just want the episodes and nothing else
Let me create clips of episodes within your site, and share them
without having to mirror them, adjust the pitch, and set to 1.2x speed on YouTube
clips of <XX seconds, anyone can view, clips longer than XX seconds, require a sign-in
Add OVAs, extras, radio dramas, OSTs, clean OPs/EDs
Have a non-shit forum, integrate with MAL/AniList/whoever else
Offer uncensored shows
Negotiate better then
Honestly, I feel like the clip thing alone would be such a big deal
Just be a pro-consumer platform, which doesn't suck
I don't even think you need some retarded back-catalogue
I have no idea how big the seasonal anime market is/could be
maybe back-catalogue is everything
Maybe a show gets less than 20% of its views while airing
and I'm just wrong
But I'd much rather see a site, decide to translate a show while airing, maintain it for 1-2 seasons after airing, and then sell the rights to CR/Funi/ whoever
it doesn't jive with every other idea I have said
but if that's what they have to do to keep it financially viable
I'd at least like to see someone try
The dream of course is to have a one-stop shop for everything
(the same dream for Western TV as well which will never happen)
But I feel like anime is almost small enough they could pull it off

Volumes without Darkness are good
Volumes with her are meh
spinoffs (other than Explosions 1 and Mask 1) are a step below those
Also, whatever order you're reading them in is probably retarded
No reason to not just read the main series, and then spinoffs
release order is the only non autistic way to read/watch anything
anything else requires a degree of autism
