To become a titan you draw out the spinal fluid of a titan and inject it into a person iirc, but they'll be a mindless titan. There are 9 different "Actual" titans that are pieces of the first titan or whatever it is, and those are transfered by eating, or if they die, it's transfered to a random newborn of the race of people.
Some person got the ability of the titans and made a bunch for their race or whatever and fucked over a ton of the world, and the rest of the world said "No U" and told them to fuck off, so a bunch of them went to an island, and a holder of the magical titan power wiped everyone's memory and built walls and told them "Everyone else is fucking dead lmao". Actually there were still people out there though which is epic XD. Anyways, Eren's dad lives in the soceity of people, but as a refugee or whatever of the race of people who can possibly become titans, Elidans or whatever, and his sister gets killed by a state officer or something and Eren's dad gets sad. Eren's dad then joins/helps the group of people fighjting back, and he marries a partial Eldian leftover Royal (who are mostly all dead), so his son exists, his son (for their own good and the good of the resistance), sells out his parents, then gets to inherit the Beast Titan later. (He's Eren's half brother). So a fun way to exile Elidans for whatever reason is to turn them into titans and throw them on the island, this happens to Eren's Dad's wife and everyone there, then someone transforms and saves him, he then has Erens dad eat him, and erens dad becomes the attack titan. Erens dad then goes to where AoT takes place, and kills part of the leftover royal family, and eats them for the special coordinate titan thing which lets them control people. Then he has a kid which is Eren and has eren eat him yummy (and you can only live 13 years once you get a titan). Anyways titans attack lmaooo, and the titan that eats erens mom is actually the wife of erens dad from long ago, and the one eren punched isnt that epic lol! anyways the story progresses, and reiner and that other dude who is the colasslolol titan infilitrate the city and shit and stuff goes down, anyways none of this matters because eren thinks purging their race is the best way to save them and armin becomes the collasol titan
