i think the screw attack is cool though. it allows you to get places much easier. you can skip the ball cannons and stuff. it is kinda annoying to crash into a wall and bounce too far back though.

being able to make a move weaker sounds good for catching pokemon bob you also get to stylize the offense of your pokemon and change the way they fight to favor either strength at the cost of speed or speed at the cost of strength
