I like the idea of coalitions though because it forces compromise between large groups

Germany's system is interesting where the political parties have to form coalitions in order to "win" the government. The only issue it has is that there's a rule that they are banned from forming coalitions with the rightmost party because they're scared of nazis, so they just inherently are banning democracy.

And the rulers of those parties are vain and evil!
