Essentially it's the benchmark to determine if someone has "beat" the game, since using continues makes it far more trivial.

1-credit-clear, it's generally an arcade term, but Touhou works with arcade logic. Just means you don't use a continue to clear the game.

Tbf, I don't think you need to be able to post a 1cc to be a Touhou fan, but the guy replied by posting pictures of the ending screens (something anyone can screenshot). It's REALLY easy to go to your records a post a 1cc, such as I have here if you actually have one. Phijkchu_P

Also Otaku doesn't need to mean waifu or horny, and Touhou is definitely pandering to Otaku culture

I mean, it's kinda true? Touhou source material is incredibly NOT horny. Despite this, the fans make it horny anyway, and we all know that Touhou is mostly defined by its fanbase and fan games and such, so I'd say it's still a somewhat horny series.

The critical engagement is the text of the review itself. I don’t think you need a number along with it.

Honestly I do kinda like the binary system though. Too many people have extremely varied personal rating for what 1-10 mean, so it becomes less meaningful.

And I agree with this. Too many people want to leave neutral reviews because they didn’t like something, but they feel bad giving negative reviews. Spooky Phijkchu if you don't feel strongly, that's the same as a negative review
