I was 14 when I played it, but I thought it was pretty decent. The gameplay felt strange at first, but within 30-45 minutes it basically felt like a Nintendo-designed RTS.

I played with friends for a good 25-30 hours but it eventually just got boring, doing quest after quest with zero progression eventually.

I think if you played with friends(can have up to 4) and used cheats to skip progression any time it got slow, it would be really fun for a while.

Monster Hunter at least lets you get to the endgame - or at least a point where you have a ton of monsters to hunt - pretty quickly, then you're at the mercy of RNG gods for crafting new weapons and armor.
