I think the game tends to favor being lawful good

especially based on your alignment

you will have additional options if you do certain things

the story will change slightly

I'd say there are no branching plots but

your interactions with the playable charcters will affect the story to an extent

but the main plot stays fairly unaffected

and I think every side story will resolve differently based on what you pick

I'm pretty sure like every choice you get matters

there are a lot of events that will have an impact on your kingdom depending on what you choose
