I like to break up my Mario Parties by mechanics rather than console. Mario Party 1 has its own because its a fucking mess of a game. 2,3,and 4 are the item games. 5, 6, and 7 are the orb games. 8 is a return to items but shitty. 9 and 10 are car.

I think them doing shrines is more of a Switch design philosophy decision. They want it so you can play in short burst. Look at Odyssey with the 900 moons.
