all marching band directors are just like "learn your scales but you dont know why they are what they are and thats all you need to know" for like everyone that i know

tbh i kinda hate how most highschools do music for the most part now, my school's like the only one around that cares about theory and its because we emphasize jazz over marching band

That was usually the strategy though yeah, and if you could get that and hear the major/minor and stuff you could use it to guess the soprano pretty well if you couldnt hear it

I totally missed that and just thought root lol

For questions 1 and 2 it always ended on the tonic with a note worth half the measure so it was usually pretty easy to get atleast three points

you can kinda guess if you hear where the one's are what the other stuff is

But it was more because of knowing how chord progressions work than hearing it

I usually did better on three and four actually yeah

Shoot I don't know mine off the top of my head

Questions 3,4 are the chord dictations, there's also the melodic dictations which are kinda tough

The really tough part is ear training stuff since thats like not something that people ever do before then

It's mostly classical theory, the main hard part is that its generally taught as a one year class at schools, ones who dedicate a year before it to get people actually like a decent amount have much better passrates- it covers of course like chords and all that easy stuff, but also part writing in seventeenth century s

comp gov is comparative government, it's where you learn about the governments of US, UK, russia, iran, india, mexico, and china

I'm super psyched about that 5 on ap theory though I worked super hard for it and got a perfect score on the written section

yeah i'm kinda bummed about it but oh well, it's still passing

I really couldve done better on calc but oh well

5 on ap music theory and 3 on ap calc
