you can always change lawyers later, but its actually a non-trivial amount of work and will cost you a couple thousand dollars
and yeah, I think the whole internet was surprised by Guude getting implicated like this
but most people (who don't have a lawyer/firm in their contacts already) will need to go out and price out what they can afford and what their defense direction is going to be, and that's not something thats super easy to figure out while in jail

so, when you show up to your bail hearing, you don't actually need a lawyer to represent you, nor do you need one to work with the bail bondsman for you
if you can't afford one, you can have an appointment of council before then, and you might as well do it then
