if you don't show up, a bounty is posted on you

or whenever your trial is

all you have to do then, is show up, in 3 months

and you have to option of having bail posted by literally anyone, which is where bail bondsmen come in

where they set bail

you get a hearing, the night after (or mondays if it was on a weekend)
