The prof for the class I am TAing assigning 7 questions and not using crowdmark (the handy system that lets me grade by question because you submit your work question by question) is killing me
Having to mark 7 questions sequentially, then go to the next student and mark 7 questions makes it so hard to get in a marking flow state
Almost half done after 4 hours of marking at least!
Damn, fancy. I just had to annotate PDFs
I have to do that for this lol
Half the time I didn't get an answer sheet
Replying to mint #wimint pika, random question. did tall have a fire drill yesterday?
I have not been on campus in weeks, so I have no idea. Do you know someone at Queens or something?
Replying to Sienna Wolven #siennawolven Half the time I didn't get an answer sheet
They are required to give us one as per our TA union contract
Nope

What did you do school for
Electrical engineering, we only got a graduate student union very recently and by the time I left they had yet to get their shit together
To many fucking engineers
god damn it
Lol
every time
I am doing a PhD in mathematics in information theory
Well at least information theory is quite useful. We use it to some degree in RF communications
Well, I should say its the basis of RF comms
My education trajectory has been mathematical physics -> control theory -> information theory, based purely on where I got accepted for grad school and by who lol
But in day to day engineering we still use it too

Lol fair. Im potentially about to start an interdisciplinary PhD in electrical engineering and geophysics or astrophysics.
based
More PhD race contendors joining is always funny (ignoring leg got his PhD and kribbles joined already having one)
Im mostly doing it with the hope of teaching at a university. My friend is a graduate working on space missions and id basically be rubber stamping his work and helping apply for funding so that i can fuck off during summer and teach in winter
Thats cool
Staying in academia is my tenitive plan atm, I will consider what I actually want to do when I am nearing the end of my PhD (started my 2nd year)
Okay, we should make sure the actual important vetting question is answered then. Please tell me you are not from Ohio
Also true Spooky is literally a satellite radio engineer
My plan of getting enough random PhDs to form PHIJKCHU university is going smoothly though
We basically have enough for a small engineering department as is
lamp is our sole psychology professor in this weird timeline
