This is a lot of assumptions buttt....if he is taking a plea deal, based on waiving counsel, then he may be just trying to get affairs in order until then. Or he may now be shopping around for a lawyer and plans to get counsel and fight.

My perception is that if you don't have a prior relationship with a lawyer/firm, there's no reason to get one before you bond out

(excluding if you're getting a public defender)

Timing is also pretty normal, his hearings were on a Friday, so it would have took until things were open again Monday to have that worked out, to then be released on Tuesday
