@Phijkchu_Pikachu question
if Canada was not annexed in-whole, but you were given the option to get free US citizenship and be a dual cit (by virtue of being a Canadian citizen for 10+ years)
would you accept it?
bigballs (@bigballs) on X
still agaying it up

No, I would not use it because I have no interest in living in the US
If I am moving from my shithole, I'd rather go somewhere nice
Pika, I think it is irrational to turn down free citizenship for any country
but I saw a couple Canadians saying that on Twitter, and wondered where you'd stand
Maybe I misunderstood the hypothetical
oh sorry, maybe I wrote it unclear
if this was a thing, and regardless of if I accepted it or not it was a thing, then sure whatever
I thought the question was would I think that is a deal Canada should go for
which the answer is no, because then we become the US in 5-10 years
yeah, the premise is that you don't get annexed, they just offer all longstanding Canadians dual citizenship
if you've been a Canadian citizen for at least 10 years as of July 4th, 2025
Dude, you know how much that would fuck my country up because of the indians playing the long game to get to the US
even more so than it already is
it would be a one-time thing
I am mad at trump, him meme starting a trade war with Canada gave the Liberals a rallying cry, and now they are projected to beat Bloc for official opposition btw
he fucking stole the funniest outcome from me
Trump/Rubio/Youngkin's team are trying to think of scenarios to incorporate just Alberta now
which is funny
Funny, but also will not happen
I do not see a single Canadian provice joining the US. Quebec, followed by Alberta going independent are way more likely events
I think the whole premise of you can rush integration is funny
I've said before, if this was of interest, we could do it on a 10-year timeline
easily
but there's zero chance anyone is serious
I do not think that is a serious effort Leg
