I think someone could argue S/V is an objectively bad game, and I wouldn't even disagree but it was fun

I think that most people here who played scarlet and violet will say that the game is really fun

I have a lot of issues with S/V. I did enjoy it, and I like that they at least tried something new with being open world, but I don't think they did it very well.

I think most people had fun with legends arceus and ZA? So I wouldn’t mind if the open world concept was just here to stay

I haven't played ZA. I thought it was generally disliked more than Arceus.

ZA is a city that looks the same everywhere

and the combat is really annoying

I didn't finish Arceus, but it was a neat spin-off game

The only real problem I had with ZA is pokemon had problems targeting sometimes

I'd rather they go back to linear games with little-to-no story personally. Their overuse of dialogue is what killed gens 6-8 for me.

actually, I should include 5 in that too. 5 has way too much dialogue too.

That's fair. I like it on my first playthrough, but it makes replaying the games difficult.

Well, my criticism would moreso be that you can't do much before being constantly interrupted. I just want to explore the world, catch pokemon, defeat gyms, etc, but when you're constantly interrupted by your friends going, "HAVE YOU SEEN NEBBY, LET'S GO TO THIS MEADOW" it just gets annoying. If it happened every once in a while, I'd be more fine with it, but you get constantly interrupted by extended dialogues/cutscenes.

And I think S/V for that reason is a step in the right direction. You are completely free to run around and do things, and even when you do a story area, the dialogue doesn't waste your time.

you are unable to walk more than one route in S/M without running into someone who talks to you for an extended period of time

and this is not only an issue in the first island like many people say

I dont remember feeling that way about the dialogue in gen 5/6/7

In gen 6, Tierno/Trevor/Shauna interrupt you a lot in random routes. It's not as bad as gen 7, but it still gets on my nerves.

Its been too long since i've played 6 though so i cant really articulate what it was i did not like about it, but dialogue wouldn't have been one of my criticisms

I really think they just increased the amount of dialogue in literally every game in a significant amount

gen 8 has Hop "worst character in fiction" Retard blocking you from progression with dialog every 5 steps

ZA for some reason has invisible dialog trigger walls blocking you from exploring the open world for no legitimate reason

Arceus was great if you ignored combat

It was fun throwing balls at shit and exploring
