I can't speak too confidently about other people's opinions, but among competitive scenes:
Dynamax is utter garbage, one of the worst things ever.
Tera is extremely divisive. Some people love it for shaking up the meta and some think it's broken trash that ruins some pokemon.
Megas are mostly neutral to positive, on the caveat that most people would have preferred other pokemon to get megas compared to what we got.
Competitive pokemon after gen 6 has a big "rich get richer" problem, where in theory they introduce flexible gimmick mechanics that allow you to win with anything, but in reality they make the already strong pokemon absolutely dominant. This is on top of the plethora of snowballing abilities/moves which cause games to end really quickly if you make one wrong call
From a casual on Megas specifically, I would have liked if there were either more Megas
or if the mechanic was tailored for pokemon without normal evolutions, rather than just fan-favorites getting them
it's the best of all the recent generational gimmicks still
