That surprises me. I was fairly bored throughout my entire playthrough. I didn't think it was awful, I mean I did finish it at least, but it felt very uninspired. I was going through the motions.

i don't get why gamefreak makes doubles the main competitive form but refuses to make it the primary thing in the actual games except the blueberry dlc

The open world is just really boring when there's no real motivation to interact with anything in it. I guess I could be catching pokemon, but if there's an objective, I want to go to that and ignore everything else.

I just like catching pokemon
Extremely fair take, but I disagree. I hate catching pokemon. Sitting there mashing the A button takes the life out of me. Same reason, somewhat, why I didn't enjoy Legends Arceus.

I had my cousins son over, 8 years old, and let him play on my Pokemon Scarlet and he had insane fun just flying around on Miraidon and catching random things. I dunno why, but I just can't enjoy that.

I think it also helped I went into arceus and sv expecting to like them too
really? I feel like it's the opposite for me. If I go into something expecting to like it, I'm often disappointed.

But yeah, I refused to play SV for a very long time, but my friend kept going on and on about how it's the next greatest thing and it legit may be his favorite pokemon, so I finally played it, and was thusly underwhelmed.
