Thoughts on the new helldivers psn requirements?

I don't understand why they'd even bother, are they trying to add crossplay parties with PSN?

They are saying it's a security issue? But PSN accounts are region locked, so certain countries won't even be able to make accounts

to me it seems like one of those things that unless you're an active PS5 user (in which case you probably want the friends list integration etc.)

you may as well just make a new PSN account and use that

No you can buy the game on steam in let's say... Latvania

But Sony might not allow PSN accounts to be created in Latvania

So you couldn't log into the game at that point

Chiming in late to say, the game always required a PSN account. The game did too well at the start though, which kinda ruined the forced PSN thing. They opted to ignore it till now, but the games been out long enough that if you're playing I don't think it's a deal breaker.

I stopped myself from reinstalling it, but nice run
