Magic is viable in dark souls, if that's your question

that is pretty funny though, didn't realize there was such a well developed mod already out there

@Spooky Phijkchu It's playable gameplay wise too, you can play a versioin where you can just rebattle every boss, do it in perfect order like in game or purchase stuff like its a special mode

It's just built to play as a melee game first and foremost

Dark magic sorceries were notoriously overpowered

the modifiers wee the more interesting part

Nah, it's balanced pretty decently

in DS1, the limited casts are more a limiting factor than your estus

I think magic/miricale/pyro builds are fun, it's not Dark Souls, but theyre fun

It's just more fun to go melee focused in general, but magic is still fine

Pyro blends pretty well with melee I think, it has that one huge buff spell

that's the one part I don't like about DS magic

there are too manny fodder enemies, you don't want to use magic on

Well, you usually just learn to roll past them on your runs to the bosses

well no shit, that's just the part of mage that I don't think is well refined

since you're better off hitting things with your stick

Miracles have a few great spells for crowd control

Force/wrath of the gods, helps out whenever you get swarmed

was thinking about playing them too

Your starting class doesn't matter too much

if you want to play a hybrid, play pyro

I guess I mean builds instead of classes

oh and I should mention I'm playing with a friend too

friend has never played DS1

but has played 3 and maybe 2

Well, you end up finding spells as items across the map

And there's a few big name npcs you need to help out

if you want fun hybrid builds, pyro and paladin both get ranged spells

hybrids are pretty cool imo

Ranged shit just lets you cheese certain segments, which is why it's always made very low damage or limited

aren't there int scaling weapons too?

but it's fun though

lightning, fire

are both fun to fling

even if it's less efficient (technically)

One of the coolest weapons scales with int, yeah

I think most of them are late game though

I think I want an int focused build that casts spells but also hits with an int scaling weapon

that sounds fun to me

with a friend, pallidan let's you have lightning and heals

so if your freind is going dex or whatever, you can be the healer
