Isekais escaped their own formula and just collectively decided they're all going to be about nothing now

because its trendy to buck the trend

and be about not the real plot

or be subversive

instead of being like an anti story though

theyre just like

ignoring the story

if that makes sense

cultivation novels are still in their "we have to be super serious and dour" at all times phase

they'll probably eventually escape it

My bias is also that I just think CN stuff is kinda goofy most of the time
