the POV sequence at the beginning was something I've not seen in a while

We were sort of talking about this, but I do think authors sometimes forget whether their story is/isn't an isekai now
esp when they need their 12 y/o protag to be as smart as an adult or have some ooc knowledge
I moreso meant that in a sense of most isekai's are soft fantasies that do not give a shit about their world beyond it just being the setting
there are iskeai that are exceptions obviously

Me when I catagorize konosuba pre-him being sent to another world in episode 1 as a native-isekai because he was a shut-in so going outside was another world
Also, blind water mage (not to be confused with water mage or water sword mage)
is going to be a mess
